Why we exist
Software forgot who it’s for.
Somewhere along the way, products became overloaded — features, notifications, dashboards, complexity. Instead of creating clarity, they became another source of work. We believe software should do the opposite. It should help people think more clearly, work more confidently, and spend less time fighting technology.
So we don’t begin with technology. We begin with people. What is frustrating? What feels unnecessarily complicated? What steals time and attention? Only then do we decide what to build.
What we choose
Decided before the first line of code.
Five trade-offs and five values, written down before anything shipped. They decide what we build — and what we won’t.
How we design
Principles you can point at.
Design is not decoration. Design is how software communicates. Each principle below is demonstrated with the real values it produced — nothing on this page is illustrative.
Clarity before beauty
Beautiful software is useless if people don’t understand it. Every visual decision must improve understanding, hierarchy, or usability.
Feel more capable, not more overwhelmed.
Feel more capable, not more overwhelmed.
Feel more capable, not more overwhelmed.
Simplicity is earned
Simple products are difficult to create. We remove complexity until only what matters remains.
- Features nobody asked for
- Notifications competing for attention
- Dashboards that create work
- Settings for every edge case
- Only what matters
Calm wins
Interfaces should feel quiet. Whitespace is not empty — it is part of the experience. Crowding is the failure mode, not looseness.
Consistency creates confidence
Patterns build trust. People should never wonder how something works.
Motion communicates
Motion explains change. It never decorates. Nothing slower than 320ms.
One easing curve. No bounce, no elastic.
Accessibility is the baseline
An inaccessible product is unfinished. Every colour pair is measured, not eyeballed.
How we work
One product at a time.
We built the first White Interval product the way we’ll build the next — thoughtfully, and without hurry. We’d rather build less and design everything than ship features because competitors have them.
We believe simplicity is not the absence of capability, but the result of careful decisions. Before anything ships, it has to answer one question honestly: does this genuinely improve someone’s day?
Software should make people feel more capable, not more overwhelmed.
What we won’t do
Private by default.
We treat personal data as something we are responsible for, not something we own.
Collect only what’s needed
A product gets the data it genuinely needs to work — nothing more.
Never sell personal data
Your data is not a revenue line, and it never will be.
Export and delete, always
Leaving should be as easy as arriving. Your data goes with you.
What’s next
We’d like to hear from you.
